iCarpool was conceived at a gas pump. The founders were greatly
influenced by news about global warming and dependency on oil. Rising prices at
the gas pump, traffic congestion problems together with the environmental concerns
triggered the idea of iCarpool. When the founders looked at existing solutions,
they realized the solutions left much to be desired. They decided to use their expertise
in software to develop a solution which enables new scenarios and through sustained
innovation creates an opportunity for a grass roots movement. The solution they
developed is iCarpool. iCarpool was born by marrying technology with transportation
to solve real world problems with our roadways. Today, iCarpool is one of the fastest growing service for
ridematching and comprehensive commute management programs. iCarpool also provides
tools to manage and promote alternative transportation helping commute trip reduction
(CTR) programs significantly. Within the past year, iCarpool recorded over 10 million
drive alone miles saved which translates to 10 million lbs of CO2 saved. The company
has well over 50 clients using its services within a year of launching offerings
to employers and public agencies. Fortune 500 employers and major metropolitan areas

Lakshmi Krishnamurthy, Founder
Lakshmi has been in the software field for more than a decade. She has worked in
diverse roles and held varying levels of responsibilities - from design and development
to project management and architect. This makes her breadth of experience very rich
and diverse. She has helped bring products from concept to market being involved
in all stages of product development. The last company she worked for (up to 2006)
was Microsoft Corp. The experience working on two V1 products at Microsoft back-to-back
and being involved in the entire product development cycle proved very valuable
later when she founded iCarpool. She holds a MS (Computer Science)degree from Case
Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH.
Amol Brahme, Co-Founder
Amol has been involved in the technology field since 1994. The last company Amol
worked for (up to 2008) was Microsoft Corp. In Microsoft, Amol led development efforts
for customer experience of an enterprise server product generating multi-billion
dollar revenue. This gives him a solid background for dealing with customers as
well as engineering an enterprise product. Amol focuses on strategic technical direction
for iCarpool including technology, scalability, design and development. Amol holds
a Masters in Computer Science from University of Pune, India. Amol is a certified
Employee Transportation Coordinator by AQMD (California) and has good knowledge
of the transportation sector specifically with regards to alternative transportation.
